Previous Work
Thurrock Thameside Nature Park
From 2013 to 2015 I a created a variety of voluntary design work for the Thurrock Thameside Nature Park, part of the Essex Wildlife Trust.
Working with the Education Officer, I designed a number wildlife characters to appear on trials around the park. These were themed on common English wildlife or animals common to the nature park.
I was also given the opportunity to design the welcome sign that was displayed at both entrances to park.
Some concepts for animals for the nature trails. There were a pair of Barn Owls living on site, used to see them often when around in the evenings.

Some concepts for animals for the nature trails. The badger is used in the Logo for the Essex Wildlife Trust, this made it a natural choice for one of the trails.

I worked closely with staff at the park to keep to the style guidelines set by the Trust.

Dreamland Theatre
In the summer of 2016 I did some voluntary work for Dreamlands Theatre.
First was a cover design for a two-part audio drama, 'The Skeleton Key.' I was given a synopsis of the story and asked to create something befitting the tale. In the tale a storm strands a sailor on a small island with just a light house and thousands of plague rats. The lonely solitude of the light house as the wave bares down upon it struck me.
'On a Country Road' is another cover design. This time a couple break down on the back roads, with just the radio for company, reporting on the escape of an inmate from a local asylum. Then they start seeing shapes in the darkness.
I was requested to create a poster design for a wrestling night held in March 2017. They wanted a dynamic view of the fighters and liked this composition.

Inclusion Thurrock
Over the summer of 2017 I worked as part of a team to create a film for Inclusion Recovery College Thurrock, who help people regarding their mental health.
We were asked to create a film to be used in a number of presentations, containing stories from their students to highlight how Depression affects young adults.
On the project I worked on concept, scripting and art. I also edited the film using Adobe Premiere Pro. I also led the team in meetings and worked to keep everyone updated on the project.
An aim of the project was to give visual representations to the feelings and affects of Depression for suffers. In this image it towers above the character. Giving an idea of how Depression can 'hang' over someone and make them feel helpless. Paint Tool Sai 2.0 and Photoshop
The follow up shows the character learning how to take back control over the 'beast', as they learn and find ways to improve their mental health. Paint Tool Sai 2.0 and Photoshop
A character falls into a dark void, ominous eyes hiding below. The creature represents friends and family supporting them by being a light that holds of the darkness. Procreate and Photoshop
A character who feels they are not in control of themselves. Showing how sometimes what people show on the outside is not how they feel inside. Paint Tool Sai 2.0 and Photoshop
